Training Plan

New for this year we’ve developed a free 8-week training plan for beginners that will help get you ready to run or walk your first 5 KM race at the 2019 Edmonton Pride Run & Walk. The plan consists of 3 workouts per week, including a group run each Saturday from April 27 - June 8.

Race Package Pick Up

Participants will be able to pick up their race packages (including t-shirts for those that order them) at United Sport & Cycle (7620 Gateway Blvd. NW) during the following times:

  • Thursday, June 13, 2019 — 4:00 PM to 7:45 PM

  • Friday, June 14, 2019 — 4:00 PM to 7:45 PM

Race package pick up will also be available on race day starting at 8:30 AM at RE/MAX Field. Pick up will remain available until 9:45 AM (15 minutes before the race starts).

Route Map

Below is the tentative route map for this year’s event - we are still finalizing a few details with the City of Edmonton so the routes may change slightly.

Note that the 10 KM route consists of two laps of the 5 KM loop.

Bag Check

A complimentary bag check will be available for participants on race day starting at 8:30 AM at RE/MAX Field. Items will be available for pick up until 12:45 PM. Bags will not be provided so please bring your own.

Water Stations

There will be a water station located on the course for the 5 KM run/walk and the 10 KM run.

Post-Race BBQ

A free community BBQ, hosted by Team Edmonton, will take place near the start/finish line after the race. Everyone is welcome, including participants, volunteers, and spectators. No registration is required for the BBQ.

Team Edmonton is a local non-profit organization that offers a free communications platform aimed at promoting locally volunteer-run (or low-cost) LGBTQ2S+ inclusive sports and recreational activities.

Parking

We encourage you to carpool, walk, ride, or take public transit to the event. There is also free onsite parking available in the parking lot located just North of RE/MAX Field.
